IIML DIRECTOR AJIT PRASAD PASSES AWAY
LUCKNOW : Director of the Indian Institute of Management, Lucknow, prof Ajit Prasad passed away in Lucknow on Wednesday due to heart failure. He suffered a massive heart attack on October 13 and was undergoing treatment at the Sanjay Gandhi Post Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences (SGPGIMS). He was 61 and survived by wife and daughter. Prof Ajit Prasad joined IIM Lucknow as director on November 2, 2015.
LUCKNOW: Director of the Indian Institute of Management, Lucknow, prof Ajit Prasad passed away in Lucknow on Wednesday due to heart failure. He suffered a massive heart attack on October 13 and was undergoing treatment at the Sanjay Gandhi Post Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences (SGPGIMS). He was 61 and survived by wife and daughter.
“It is with profound grief and sorrow we inform the sad demise of our Director - Prof Ajit Prasad around 3:30 pm on October 31, 2018,” an IIML press communique read. Prasad was admitted to the SGPGIMS for over two weeks. He was in a critical condition and was on life support since then.
Prof Ajit Prasad joined IIM Lucknow as director on November 2, 2015. He was associated with SP Jain Institute of Management and Research at Mumbai as professor of Strategy. With an MSc in Social Policy from the London School of Economics, he was also an alumnus of St Stephens College, the Delhi School of Economics and International Management Institute. He had a

rich experience in the government, industry and academia.
His past industry experience included the State Bank of India, Planning Commission (Government of India), Steel Authority of India, and the UN/ESCAP at Bangkok. His past academic experience included stint at Delhi University and Management Development Institute, Gurgaon.
He has been a visiting faculty at the IIMs, SP Jain, IIFT, MICA and other leading business schools. He has also been on the international faculty rolls in the UK, France, the Netherlands, Dubai and Singapore.
Prasad’s publication and research interests were in the areas of corporate planning, strategic thinking, and governance. He was author of three books, including the best selling “Dictionary of Strategic Management”, and innumerable research papers in national and international journals.
