Statue of Unity will be counted among wonders of world: Dy CM
VARANASI : Statue of Unity, the 182-metre tall statue of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel that was inaugurated by Prime Minister in Gujarat on Wednesday, would be counted among the wonders of the world, said deputy chief minister Dinesh Sharma.
Sharma was in the city to lead the ‘run for unity’ organised in Sevapuri town to commemorate the birth anniversary of the first home minister and deputy Prime Minister of India.
Addressing a gathering, Sharma said, “Sardar Patel built a great India by integrating over 500 princely states together with it. His works for country’s unity and integrity are incomparable. He made immense contribution to the unity and integrity of the nation.”
“Giving high respect to him, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has got installed a skyscraper statue of Sardar Patel at Narmada district. We are the children of Sardar Patel. We are one and will remain one forever,” Sharma said. He also administered oath of integrity and unity of the country to those attending the function.
Sharma also said the BJP governments at the state and centre were working for development of one and all.
He said “The honour of India has increased across the globe under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi and nations like United States (US) have started accepting importance of India and Indians. Now, many countries world follow India.”
