Advocates manhandle SP’s PRO at DJ office
LUCKNOW: The public relations officer (PRO) of superintendent of police (SP) of Sitapur was manhandled by a group of advocates at the office of district judge in Sitapur on Wednesday.
Police have identified three advocates and are making efforts to arrest them after registering an FIR in the matter.
SP of Sitapur Prabhakar Chudhary said ,”The incident occurred in the afternoon when we went to the office of the district judge for a meeting. PRO Vinod Mishra, who was waiting at the gate of the judge’s office was manhandled by a group of advocates.”
The advocates reportedly attempted to enter the office of the district judge when the SP and the judge were holding a meeting. They attacked the PRO when he tried to prevent them from entering.
The incident, according to the SP, is in retaliation of the ongoing drive to remove encroachment by the district administration at Sitapur Club. “The accused advocated were angry over the police action at the club that was illegally occupied by a group of advocates for the last 30 years,” said the SP.
Besides the FIR, the SP has also announced a reward of ₹25,000 each for the three suspects who were allegedly involved in manhandling the PRO.
“We will also send a complaint to the High Court against the accused advocates for disciplinary action and are planning to invoke NSA (national Security Act) against them,” the SPsaid.
THE SP HAS ALSO ANNOUNCED A REWARD OF ₹25,000 EACH FOR THE THREE SUSPECTS WHO WERE ALLEGEDLY INVOLVED IN MANHANDLING THE PRO.
