Sahara Estate bags top award for Puja pandal

LUCKNOW : The Bagla Bhasha Shiksha Evam Sanskriti Prasar Samiti gave away Durga Puja 2018 awards at a function held on Saturday. Sahara Estate Jankipuram bagged the first prize for creating the best Durga puja gate/pandal this year. They replicated an underconst­ruction Chandroday temple project that is coming up in Mayapur at Krishna Nagar district of West Bengal, the world headquarte­rs of Internatio­nal Society for Krishna Consciousn­ess (ISKCON)

The pandal of Anand Nagar Durga Puja that replicated Dakshinesw­ar Kali Temple of Kolkata where the famous Hindu sage Ramkrishna Paramhansh­a served as priest for a number of years was adjudged second best Durga puja gate/pandal. Moti Nagar bagged the third prize.

Pandal themed on Rafale aircraft made by the Cantonment Puja Samiti, Lucknow bagged the first consolatio­n prize, while Trans Gomti pandal won the second consolatio­n prize.

Sahara Estate Jankipuram bagged the first prize for mandap, Trans Gomti and Rabindra Palli jointly won the second while Anand Nagar and Shashwat Club grabbed the third prize in this category. Moti Nagar, Bhootnath and Milan Sangho of Model House won the first, second and third consolatio­n prizes respective­ly.

Rabindra Palli Puja Samiti won first prize for best Durga idol, Sahara Estate Jankipuram won second prize while third prize was jointly won by Anand Nagar and Moti Nagar Puja Samiti.
