ONE HURT IN GROUP CLASH

GREATER NOIDA: A Kasna police team arrested a man Sunday morning after an altercatio­n between two groups left one person injured near a petrol pump in Pie Sector of Greater Noida on Saturday night. .

The arrested person was identified as Mohit Kumar, in his early twenties. The clash occurred around 8pm when a 16-year-old girl and her mother were on their way to a petrol pump in site 4 area of Pie Sector on a scooty. Police said three youths travelling on a motorcycle allegedly hit the scooty and an altercatio­n ensued.

Soon, the minor girl called her father and uncle to the spot, following which the men called their friends for help. An altercatio­n ensued between the two groups in which a 40-year-old man named Brajesh Kumar Rawal was hit in his right eye with a car key, allegedly by the arrested accused.

“The minor girl has mentioned in her complaint that she was on her way towards a petrol pump when the scooty collided with the motorcycle of Mohit Kumar. An altercatio­n ensued after which the girl called her father and uncle. Kumar then allegedly called his friends and started beating up the other side, and hit the uncle of the girl with a key,” Ramphal Singh, station house officer, Kasna police station, said.

“We arrested Kumar from his residence after lodging FIR ,” the police officer said.
