‘Mud bath helps the body get rid of diseases and toxins’
LUCKNOW : To promote naturopathy, the International Naturopathy Organisation (INO) has decided to celebrate November 18 as International Naturopathy Day every year. The INO has also decided to observe International Naturopathy Week from November 11 to 18.
On the first day of the International Naturopathy Week, INO organised a mud bath for the patients, said Dr Satyendra Mishra, professor of naturopathy at Lucknow University.
He said on mud bath day, practitioners from all over the country organised a mud bath and created awareness about its benefits.
Dr Vandana Mishra of Kanchankaya Naturopathy Centre in Ashutosh Nagar, Krishna Nagar, said, “Mud is one of the five elements of nature, which impacts the body both in health and sickness. It’s only now that the wellness centres across the world have realised its importance.”
She added, “Naturopaths had been using mud therapy for over 2,000 years. The effect of mud is energising

and refreshing. It provides cooling effect to the body and helps it get rid of diseases, toxins and acts as a natural relaxant.”
Mishra said, “Thousands of people across India have taken part in the mud baths organized by the INO to promote the benefits of mud. All participants have been given certificates by the INO.”
The event across the country was organized in presence of official record observers from Asia Book of Record, India Book of Records and World Kings Record Union. The entire event is supported by the Ministry of AYUSH.
