PRAYAGRAJ: Setting an example for others to repose faith in the government-run health services, Kaushambi district magistrate Manish Verma got his second child, a baby girl, delivered at a district hospital on Saturday night. A team of government doctors conducted the delivery which went normal. While confirming the news, DM Verma appealed to all for showing faith in the government-run health services.

“I could have opted for private health services but I decided to lead from the front. When we avoid a thing, deterioration of it is bound to happen. All I can say is that my wife Ankita and the baby girl are doing well at the district hospital,” he said. As per Verma, if everyone sought treatment at government hospitals, the government-run health services were sure to improve and thereby check private medicare establishments thriving on the fears of the common man.

He said in case of need, he would continue to seek help of government health services and hoped that all would do the same.

Verma, in a bid to improve government health services, recently wrote to the state government to terminate services of 16 government doctors after they refused to improve their working and failed to report to their duties regularly.
