This year’s Lucknow Mahotsav to be a treat for theatre lovers

LUCKNOW : The Lucknow Mahotsav will be a treat for theatre lovers this year as the district administra­tion will organise two theatre fests as part of the cultural extravagan­za.

A 10-day long theatre fest would be organised at Rai Umanath Bali Auditorium, in alliance with artistes’ associatio­n, from November 24, said officials with the district administra­tion.

While a 7-day fest would be organised at Rajkiya Abhilekhag­ar from November 29 in associatio­n with the theatre and film welfare associatio­n.

“This year, the theme of the theatre fests would be social issues. Hence, the artists would try to give a strong message to the audiences via entertainm­ent,” said Kaushal Raj Sharma, district magistrate.

Officials informed that the administra­tive officials and the members of the mahotsav committee has invited theatre artists from across the country to make the show a big hit.

cover series of social issues to leave a deep impact on the audiences. He said the fest at Rai Umanath Bali Auditorium would be inaugurate­d on November 24 and the shows would start from November 25.

Some of the lined up shows are—Gorakhdhan­da on November 25, Milind Prashn on November 26, Ma Durga Sakali on November 27 and Vatan Ke Vaste on November 28.

There would be several others shows like Good Doctor, Saas Ki Rudan, Tamanche Wali Dulhan, Humne To Suna Hai, Mera Kabristan, Humari Vyatha, Yam Hai Hum and Kashmir. The shows would be organised from 6:30pm onwards.

Besides, the main Lucknow Fest would be organised at the Kanshiram Smriti Upvan from November 25.
