‘Opposition working to divide society’
LUCKNOW: Deputy chief minister Dinesh Sharma on Wednesday said the popularity of Prime Minister Narendra Modi among the masses had demoralized the opposition parties. “The SP- BSP leaders are talking of electoral alliance for their political survival,” he said.
Sharma was addressing a social representative meeting of BJP Dalit Morcha. Hitting out at the opposition, he said the Congress, SP and the BSP were working to divide the society on the basis of caste and religion to grab power. “Prime Minister Modi is trying to create harmony in the society by launching series of social welfare schemes. Cutting across caste and community lines, people are benefitting from the schemes, he said.
The BJP government at the centre had completed four and half years in power but the opposition failed to find any blemish so far as corruption was concerned, he said.
“Inclusion of Rafale fighter aircraft in the Indian Air Force has created panic in China and Pakistan. To serve the interest of the enemy countries, the Congress is raising the issue of irregularities in the Rafale deal whereas the reality is that there is no corruption in the deal,” he said. Praising Modi’s foreign policy, Sharma said Pakistan had been marginalized in the international forum and India had emerged as a strong country.
He said the SP and the Congress were promoting dynasty rule whereas the BSP indulged in corruption. He said Congress leaders did not allow a Dalit leader Jagjivan Ram to become Prime Minister.
