Uttar Pradesh Congress Committee (UPCC) president Raj Babbar targeted chief minister Yogi Aditaynath for the violence on Monday.

“Yogi is busy making tall claims about the situation in his state whenever he is visiting other states. In UP the situation, however, has gone from bad to worse and the people,, including the policemen, are not safe in the state. His style of functioning is leading to mob frenzy and this is not in anybody’s interest,” said Babbar on phone.

“We are feeling sad about the families of those who have died. Yogi needs to take strict action against those responsible for the violence,” said Babbar.

yanath government saying the entire state was in the grip of terror.

“Even police stations are not safe anymore. Ever since this government came to power policing has collapsed. The murder of the police inspector proves that ‘jungle raj’ prevails in the state.

People are in fear due to loot, murders, rapes and the government has no control over law and order. BJP is fanning politics of hatred and as a result communal harmony has been ruined.”

Uttar Pradesh in-charge of Aam Admi Party (AAP) and Rajya Sabha member Sanjay Singh demanded the government must identify the killers of the police officer and give strictest of punishment. He also demanded ₹1 crore compensation to the family of the police officer.

Attacking the BJP, he said the party wants to convert India into ‘Taliban’ state and if the people did not wake up, BJP mobs will continue to kill like this. He said Yogi Adityanath had been a complete failure on law and order count.

Pragatisheel Samajwadi Party (Lohia) founder, Shivpal Singh Yadav said the killing of the police officer over the rumour of cow slaughter was sad. On the one hand, cows were dying on the roads in the state and on the other, efforts were on to disturb mutual harmony in the name of cows.
