Surprise check at LMC office, 70% staff found ‘missing’
LUCKNOW: Municipal commissioner Indramani Tripathi found more than 70% employees missing from their seats during a suprise inspection at LMC head office in Lalbagh at 10.30 am on Monday. Of the 350 employees here, 200 were found missing. He ordered salary cut for all those missing from their seats.
“I have ordered salary cut of all employees who were not present. They will have to explain their absence to get the salary,” said Tripathi.
He said, “If this is the state of affairs at LMC head office, then what would be the situation at zonal offices. I have directed zonal heads to monitor attendance of employees daily and habitual late-comers must be identified and punished accordingly.” Indramani Tripathi said, “I will monitor the attendance of employees at the head office. The in-charge of the establishment has been asked to give a record of biometric attendance daily at 10.30 am.”
Earlier in the day, Tripathi along with urban development minister Suresh Khanna inspected the areas of Kanausi in Kesrikhera ward of zone V, Ishwarikhera Malin Basti in Ibrahimpur ward of zone 8, Lal Bahadur Park in Rajajipuram, Bhedikothi Malin Basti in Hazratganj ward in zone 1. In these wards, sanitation workers were found working in their marked areas.
Things have improved in these wards and minister was happy to see improvement in the situation.
AIRPORT ENVIRONMENT COMMITTEE MEETING
The municipal commissioner participated in a meeting of airport environment committee meeting. The committee headed by divisional commissioner Anil Garg discussed the acquisition of land for expansion of airport runway. The administration assured that the acquisition of land for the expansion would be completed soon.
Airport director was apprised about the steps taken by the administration to stop construction of high-rise buildings in the area around the airport.
LDA V-C PN Singh said notices were served to 11 buildings for violation of height norms.
The airport administration said they had placed a sound gun to chase away birds during the landing and take-off of aircraft.
The LMC was asked to conduct regular drives to catch cattle that were becoming a hazard for passengers coming out of the airport. Stray cattle also spread filth inside the airport premises, said director airport AK Sharma.
