- MANOJ KUMAR SINGH

LUCKNOW: The Lucknow bench of the Allahabad high court has directed the state authorities to constitute a team for regular monitoring of digitisation of probe documents.

The court has asked principal secretary (home), additional director general (technical services) and principal secretary (finance), UP, to propose a team of personnel who may be entrusted with the task of monitoring the process.

Justice Attau Rahman Masoodi passed the order while hearing a bail plea.

During the hearing of the case, the need for digitization came to the fore as handwritten documents are often difficult to read.

On November 29, additional advocate general ( AAG ) Vinod Kumar Shahi, along with additional government advocate SN Tilhari, informed the court that principal secretary health had issued a government order on November 27, stating that all the post mortem reports related to police cases in every district be made available online.

Earlier, AAG Shahi informed the court that the director general of police issued a circular dated November 14 whereby the case diaries drawn during the investigation will now be made available on the portal of UP police department ( Crime and Criminal Tracking Network System).

The court has listed the case for further hearing on January 4.
