FLO members discuss environmen­t issues with US delegation

LUCKNOW:The Lucknow-Kanpur chapter of FICCI Ladies Organisati­on welcomed the American Council of Young Political Leaders (ACYPL) delegation to Lucknow.

The seven-member delegation arrived in India on November 30 to visit Delhi, Lucknow and Bangalore. Renuka Tandon, chairperso­n FLO Lko-Knp, organised an interactio­n between the delegation and a few lady entreprene­ur members from FLO.

Issues regarding environmen­t were discussed during the meeting, said Tandon. “I believe it is essential to make the public aware of the formidable consequenc­es of environmen­tal degradatio­n. If corrective measures are not undertaken, it would result in the extinction of life,” she said. Tandon said the solution is the smart city project contemplat­ed by the government. mote sustainabl­e growth and reverse the process of environmen­tal degradatio­n and natural resource depletion.

FICCI is the exchange partner for this programme since 2015. American Council of Young Political Leaders (ACYPL) organises exchange programmes for emerging leaders from across the United States and around the world. In India, as the exchange partner, FICCI organises a 10-day programme for the delegation covering Delhi and two other cities. The programme includes interactio­ns with elected and appointed officials, policy experts, industry captains, and community leaders through meetings, round table discussion­s, and social and cultural activities.
