FAILING TO CASH IN

Despite Arsenal taking the lead twice against arch-rivals Manchester United on Thursday, they failed to hold on at Old Trafford and stay in the top-four of the Premier League. HT looks at the talking points from the game:

DEFENSIVE BLUNDERS

Neither side have impressed as a defensive unit with the two among teams with least number of clean sheets (2) in the league. Among the top-five sides, Arsenal have conceded the most number of goals (20) while United top the chart in the top-10 having let in 25 goals — which is uncommon for a Jose Mourinho side. AGGRESSION MISSING

While Arsenal would curse themselves for not taking home all three points, United too should feel undone having seven of their 10 shots on target but scoring just two.

It has hurt United badly of late with the Red Devils having drawn their last two games — a 2-2 draw against Southampton and a 0-0 draw against Crystal Palace at home.

INJURY WOES

Unai Emery was forced to make two substitutions owing to injuries. Stephan Lichtsteiner had to be brought on in the first half itself after Rob Holding was stretchered off while Aaron Ramsey was substituted at half-time owing to a small knock.

The only substitution that wasn’t a forced one saw Alexandre Lacazette come on for Alex Iwobi and the Frenchman played a key role just three minutes later, helping his side take the lead.

Even from our bench you could feel the little panic when the ball comes to our defensive third
