Day before RRB exam, STF busts gang of solvers

Those held include gang leader, six solvers and three candidates

KANPUR : A day before the Railway Recruit Board (RRB) examinatio­n scheduled on Sunday, the special task force busted a gang of solvers in Kanpur. Ten persons, including the gang leader, six solvers and three candidates, were arrested. The solvers were to appear on behalf of the candidates, said IG STF Amitabh Yash. The gang was involved in leaking papers of recruitmen­t exams and arranged solvers for candidates charging Rs five lakh per candidate, he said.

Those arrested include the gang leader and six solvers. Three candidates were also arrested. The solvers were to appear on behalf of the candidates, said IG STF Amitabh Yash. The gang was involved in leaking papers of recruitmen­t exams and arranged solvers for candidates charging Rs five lakh per candidate, he said.

The Kanpur unit STF headed by Ghanshyam Yadav raided a flat in Kalyanpur and arrested 10 people, six of whom were solvers. They were to appear for candidates who had applied for Group D positions in the railways. The exam was scheduled for Sunday.

Those arrested were identified as the gang leader Rahul Kumar and solvers Mahesh Yadav, Pravesh Yadav, Sunil Shah, Lalit Kumar, Ajay Tanti, Vikas Malakar and candidates as Ram Babu Pal, Mukesh Kumar Singh, Ajay Yadav.

Bihar, the two candidates were from Uttar Pradesh, the STF said. The team recovered 21 admit cards, 11 cellphones, 19 Adhar cards, cash and vehicles in the raid.

The team was pursuing two other key members Ranjit Yadav and Manoj Kumar who specialise in making fake identity cards. They were also responsibl­e for collecting the cash from candidates and sending solvers to their respective centres. A case has been registered against the arrested people with the Kalyanpur police, the STF said.
