ALIGARH POLICE CONTRIBUTE, HAND OVER ₹11LAKH TO SLAIN COP’S FAMILY
ALIGARH: In a gesture to express solidarity with the family of inspector Subodh Kumar Singh who was killed in the recent Bulandshahr violence, Aligarh police collected ₹11 lakh through contributions and handed over the amount to Singh’s widow Rajni on Saturday. SSP, Aligarh Ajay Kumar S ah ni met Sing h’ s family members and assured them of support, saying they were part of the extended police family.
Singh was killed while facing an angry mob in a village in Bulandshahr district on Monday last.
“The deceased cop Subodh Kumar Singh had an Aligarh connection and many of his colleagues are still posted at various police stations in the district. They were moved when the brave heart lost his life in the line of duty and thought of expressing their solidarity with his family in this hour of grief,” said the SSP after meeting the family.
“We assured Singh’s kin that they were part of the police family and that Aligarh police was with them,” said the SSP.
To recall, earlier Mainpuri SP Ajay Shankar Rai had declared that cops in Mainpuri district would contribute a day’s salary and the amount collected would be handed over to Singh’s family.
The Etah police led by SSP Ashish Tiwari were the first in Agra and Aligarh division to declare contribution of one day’s salary by every personnel of the district police for Singh’s family.
Subodh Kumar Singh belonged to Taregawan village in Etah district and had his primary education in Kurawali town of Mainpuri district. Before joining his last posting at Siana police station in Bulandshahr where he was killed, Singh was at Vrindavan police station in Mathura district and was a popular cop during his posting at Mathura Sadar.
Earlier this week, a candle march was taken out in Firozabad as a tribute to Singh.
