LDA SEALS ILLEGAL MARRIAGE LAWN IN SUSHANT GOLF CITY

LUCKNOW :The Lucknow Development Authority (LDA) on Tuesday sealed a marriage lawn functioning illegally in Sushant Golf City after the resident welfare association of the housing society complained the matter to the development authority.

It was since November 2017 that the marriage lawn, Affair d Corbiz, was operating from a residential plot in Sector D, pocket -1, of the posh Golf City housing society against the norms of the development authority.

“The marriage lawn was operating from a residential plot and that too without taking permission from the development authority. It was a case of commercial activity being carried out from a residential plot,” said Mahendra Kumar Mishra, joint secretary, LDA.

The LDA had also issued a notice to owners of the marriage lawn on November 30 with a last warning to shut it down.

The LDA officials had also warned proprietors against booking the marriage lawn for any further marriage function.

The Resident Welfare Association of the Sector D, Sushant Golf City, had lodged a complaint with the LDA against the marriage lawn.

President of the RWA, colonel (retd) AK Singh said, “The marriage lawn had become a nuisance for residents of Sushant Golf City (sector D, Pocket -1). Such was the menace that people had started moving out of the area,” said Singh.

“We took up the issue with the LDA and were pursuing it with the officials on regular basis. Finally, the development authority sealed the marriage lawn today,” Singh added.
