From Jan, tele-med and tele-radiology facilities in 28 dists
LUCKNOW:To meet the shortage of radiologists in state, the health department would start tele-medicine and tele-radiology facilities in 28 districts of the state from January, said health minister Siddharthnath Singh on Wednesday in a statement.
Only 107 radiologists are working in the government hospitals against the 917 posts.
Singh said the scheme was going to run by dividing the districts into two clusters. He said, “Under the tele-medicine scheme, patients will get two facilities-- tele-consultancy and video consultancy and under the tele-radiology, services like X-ray, CT scan and MRI will be made available.”

Basti, Sant Kabirnagar, Siddharthnagar, Maharajganj, Sonbhadra, Chandauli, Ghazipur, Jaunpur and others.The doctors in the government hospitals have been informed about the new facility and the patients will also be guided by the staff once they reach to avail the facility.
As many as 10 hospitals, which have been upgraded under the World Bank project, will also be launched in January. In all, 51 government hospitals have to be upgraded under the project. A coffee table book on campaign to control Japanese Encephalitis will also be launched in the coming weeks.
