LUCKNOW: Uttar Pradesh bowlers on Wednesday came up with a stunning performance and fashioned an innings and 163-run win against hosts Baroda in their Under-19 Cooch Behar Trophy match at Vadodara.

In their first innings, Uttar Pradesh had scored 417, and in reply Baroda could score just 132. Resuming at the overnight score of 28/3 while following-in on Wednesday, Baroda batsmen never looked comfortable in the middle.

They lost day’s first wicket in the very third over as VS Patil (1) was caught by Shivam Sharma off Kartik Tyagi only after addition of seven runs to the overnight total.

Even a 35-run fifth wicket stand between Shaswat Rawat (50, 116b, 7x4) and Shivang Sane (22, 43b, 5x4) didn’t make a difference as wickets kept falling line nine pins from both the ends.

With this win Uttar Pradesh now lead the table with 17 points in three matches. Now they take on Tamil Nadu from December 24 at Meerut.
