BJP ally threatens to boycott Modi rally

-

LUCKNOW : Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s December 29 rally in Ghazipur has angered BJP’s UP ally Suheldev Bharatiya Samaj Party which has tasked its cadres to urge Rajbhars, the OBC subcaste which SBSP caters to, to keep away from the Modi rally. The BJP on the other hand has asked its cadre to galvanise Rajbhars from across 14 districts around Ghazipur that shares its boundary with Varanasi, Modi’s Lok Sabha constituency.

GORAKHPUR: The downfall of the Bharatiya Janata Party started with the Gorakhpur by-poll and then in Kairana and Phoolpur, and now the reverse count has started at the centre, said Samajwadi Party state president Naresh Uttam, who visited the city on Thursday.

“The BJP will vanish from the country in the 2019 poll and as far as Uttar Pradesh is concerned, the Samajwadi Party will knock down BJP and form a government under the leadership of Akhilesh Yadav. Our party will play a supporting role in making the government at the centre in 2019,”he said.On the question of alliance with BSP, Naresh Uttam said that it will be a decision of the top leadership. While criticising BJP policies, he said, “The BJP exercised all its might in breaking society and spreading poison and tried to divert the minds of people from real issues. So steeped in arrogance was it that it started crushing farmers, poor and ambition of youth. People are fed-up with decisions like GST, demonetisation and price rise.”
