‘Bhim Army to support SP-BSP alliance’
MEERUT: Bhim Army chief Chandrashekhar on Sunday said that the BSP-SP alliance was essential and his outfit will support it to ensure the defeat of the BJP in the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections. He described the BJP as anti-Dalit, saying it was evident by their decision to provide reservation to upper castes.
Chandrashekhar was addressing a gathering of supporters during a programme to felicitate teachers of Bhim Army schools in Sant Ravidass Hostel of Saharanpur. Taking potshots at the saffron party, he urged people in the audience: “Don’t cast vote in even in support of your brother, if he gets ticket from the BJP in the election (agar tumhara koi bhai bhi BJP se ticket lekar aa jaye toh vote mat dena,” he said.
Chandrashekhar also clarified that he would not contest in the election and emphasised there is no currency note, which could buy him. “Koi kitna bhi lalach de, Chandrashekhar bikne wala nahi hain,” he assured his supporters who turned in good numbers.He said he too was in favour of a social alliance which could ensure defeat of BJP in election. He said my dream has come true and the alliance of BSP and SP would help in stopping victory of BJP in UP. The Bhim Army chief also criticised CM Yogi Adityanath for claiming that no riots occurred in UP during BJP rule. He criticised officials for denying Bhim Army permission to organise programmes.To recall, Bhim Army played a significant role in ensuring defeat of the BJP in the Kairana bypoll when his supporters came out in big numbers to vote in support of RLD candidate Tabbasum Hasan.
