FIRE AT CAMP IN MELA AREA
PRAYAGRAJ : A fire broke out at a camp in Kumbh Mela area’s sector 16 in Prayagraj on Monday and engulfed a tent, triggering panic among pilgrims and destroying goods, the police said. Senior superintendent of police, Kumbh, KP Singh said preliminary investigations suggested that the fire broke out due to a leakage from an LPG cylinder. No one received burns in the incident, he added. CM Yogi Adityanath directed officials to compensate the loss immediately.
PRAYAGRAJ: :A fire broke out at a camp in Kumbh Mela area’s sector 16 in Prayagraj (Allahabad) on Monday as LPG cylinder exploded due to leakage, triggering panic among pilgrims and destroying goods, the police said. No one received burns in the incident, senior superintendent of police, Kumbh, KP Singh. The incident took place on the eve of the Kumbh Mela, the largest Hindu pilgrimage, which will begin formally on Tuesday with the first shahi snan (royal bath) of ascetics. The SSP said preliminary investigations suggested that the fire broke out due to a leakage from an LPG cylinder. The flames erupted in the kitchen of the Digambar Akhada’s camp . CM ORDERS COMPENSATION After a fire broke in the camp of the Digambar Akhada, UP chief minister Yogi Adityanath issued instructions to fire service officials to inspect all camps in Kumbh Mela area and check the security arrangements. The chief minister also directed the mela administration to provide compensation for the goods gutted in the fire.
