Mauritius PM, Modi luncheon with 250 dignitarie­s on Jan 22

VARANASI::Mauritius Prime Minister Pravind Jugnauth, along with his Indian counterpar­t Narendra Modi, will have lunch with 250 dignitarie­s at the PM lounge at Deendayal Upadhyay Trade facilitati­on centre during his visit to the Pravasi Bharatiya Divas convention here on January 22.

Confirming this, DM Surendra Singh also informed that the NRI youth will have lunch with union minister Rajyavardh­an Singh Rathore at a dining hall at DDU and dinner with UP minister Chetan Chauhan at BHU. The preparatio­ns for the event have been completed.

President Ram Nath Kovind will felicitate the NRIs on January 23. Chief ministers from different states will also attend the event to honour the NRIs from their respective states. Singh further said a total of 450 Saraswati cottages, 120 Triveni cottages and 50 Kashi villas have been made at the tent city for the NRI guests. All cottages are wellequipp­ed. As many as 100 NRIs will live in 50 Kashi villas equipped with five-star facilities. At least 432 NRIs-- the maximum from any country-- are expected from Malaysia.

As many as 375, 340, 187, 134 and 109 NRIs from UAE, Mauritius, USA, Qatar, and Oman respective­ly will also be part of the grand event. NRIs from Germany and few other countries will also be in Varanasi for the event. Singh said two big dining halls have been made at the tent city. Breakfast will be served to them at the city while arrangemen­ts for lunch have been made at Deen Dayal Upadhyay Trade facilitati­on centre.
