PRAYAGRAJ : Union ministers Smriti Irani, Uma Bharti and Sadhavi Niranjan Jyoti were among the VVIPs who took a holy dip at Prayagraj on Tuesday. Union textiles minister Smriti Irani, along with her husband Zubin Irani, arrived here late on Monday.
She visited the camp of a seer located in Arail and spent the night at an undisclosed location, said officials. On Tuesday morning, she took a dip in holy Ganga at a ghat located on Arail side of Sangam.
Though the mela and the district administration officials failed to confirm the visit, the minister herself tweeted it along with a photograph in this regard.
Union minister for drinking water and sanitation Uma Bharti took the dip at Sangam around 7am. She first reached the VVIP ghat and then took a boat to reach the Sangam where she took the holy dip and left after performing prayers.
