ABAP SEERS TO FELICITATE AKHILESH
PRAYAGRAJ : Akhil Bharatiya Akhada Parishad (ABAP), the top body of the 13 recognised monastic orders of the country, has expressed its desire to felicitate Samajwadi Party president Akhilesh Yadav. A letter signed by ABAP president Mahant Narendra Giri states that Akhilesh had recently visited Kumbh Mela area and the saints’ community was honoured to have a person of such simplicity.
PRAYAGRAJ: Akhil Bharatiya Akhada Parishad (ABAP), the top body of the 13 recognised monastic orders of the country, has expressed its desire to felicitate Samajwadi Party president Akhilesh Yadav.
A letter signed by Akhil Bharatiya Akhada Parishad president Mahant Narendra Giri states that Akhilesh had recently visited Kumbh Mela area and the saints’ community was honoured to have a person of such simplicity.
“The Parishad wants to honour him again on a date convenient to him. It could be either February 11 or 12,” the letter added.Akhilesh is scheduled to visit the Allahabad University campus on February 12 to attend an event on the anniversary of AU student union.
Meanwhile, leaders of the Samajwadi Party are making hectic preparations for Akhilesh’s visit.

discuss the schedule of the visit and the spots in the city where the party chief would be welcomed.
Meanwhile, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders, led by district convener Rana Yashwant Singh, handed over a memorandum to the district administration officials demanding cancellation of the proposed visit of Akhilesh.
The group, comprising present and former student leaders of Allahabad University, said that since the Akhilesh Yadav government was involved in several scams which affected the career of students, he should not be invited as chief guest at AU.
They said they would stage a protest if the Samajwadi Party chief’s visit was not cancelled.
