Woman bitten by pet dog dies, FIR against owner
LUCKNOW : A 40-year-old woman died allegedly after being bitten by a pet dog in a Mohanlalganj village on the outskirts here on Wednesday.
The victim’s husband has lodged an FIR against the pet owner and his son while accusing them of not keeping the pet in restricted area, following which the incident happened and subsequently led to his wife’s death.
Inspector of Mohanlalganj police station Gaudeen Shukla confirmed that the incident occurred in Shivdaha village when one Kusum was bitten by the pet dog owned by one Aryan Srivastava and his father (name not mentioned in the FIR), on January 20.
He said the woman’s husband Banwari Lal Rawat alleged that the pet dog attacked his wife when she was going towards the farming field and bit her multiple times on hands, legs, stomach and face. He said the woman was first rushed to Mohanlalganj Community Health Centre but later referred to the trauma centre of King George’s Medical University where she succumbed to her injuries on Wednesday afternoon.
Shukla said the woman’s husband then approached the police leveling charges against the pet owner for his wife’s death. He said the complainant accused that the same dog had earlier bitten some other people of the same village. He said the villagers had asked the pet owner to keep the dog tied inside the house. He said the owner however often used to keep the dog unleashed.
