TALAQ VICTIM CHARGES IN-LAWS

LUCKNOW : A day after union minister Arun Jaitley mentioned her case in his blog, the triple talaq victim from Bareilly on Saturday accused her in-laws of abducting and beating up her 27-year-old brother on January 27.

The woman alleged that his in-laws abducted her brother on January 27 and beat him up. They later allowed him to go. On her complaint, the Bareilly police have lodged an FIR against her in-laws under sections 323 (voluntarily causing hurt) and 364 (kidnapping) of the IPC.

Senior superintendent of police, Bareilly, Muniraj (he goes by one name) said a police team had been asked to investigate the matter.

“The accused will be arrested and sent to jail if the complaint against them is found to be true,” he said.
