LUCKNOW: Commissioner Railway Safety (CRS) will inspect the Charbagh-Munshipulia Metro section from February 20 to 22. And if the CRS gives the nod, commercial run on the entire NorthSouth corridor is expected to begin any day in February, said Kumar Keshav, MD, LMRC.
“I can’t confirm the date, but LMRC is ready for the commercial run,” he said. The Transport Nagar to Charbagh section of the Metro has already got CRS nod.
Keshav said, “All the trials and tests have been completed… everything is fit and fine. Now, we await the certificate from the commissioner railway safety, which is usually given within 24 hours of his inspection.”
However, insiders said that the LMRC was gearing up for the start of commercial run on February 27 or 28. There was a strong possibility of Prime Minister Narendra Modi flagging off the first train from Amausi airport Metro station to Munshipulia station in the presence chief minister Yogi Adityanath, they added.
Insiders also said that the report of the other corridor from Charbagh to Vasantkunj was also ready to be tabled before the state government.
