5 UP cricketers in Indian teams for Quadrangular Series at home

LUCKNOW: Good showing throughout the season for the under-19 teams of Uttar Pradesh both in innings cricket and the shorter version of the game proved worthy for five cricketers of the state as they have been picked up in India Under-19 squads.

All five cricketers i.e. Dhruv Chand Jurel, Kartik Tyagi (India A), Sameer Rizvi, Shivam Sharma and Purnank Tyagi (India B) would be participating in the Quadrangular One-day series, starting March 5, at Thiruvananthapuram. The other two teams in the tournament will be South Africa U19 and Afghanistan U19. Keeper-batsman Dhruv Chand has scored three centuries in his 670 runs in 10 matches of the Under-19 Cooch Behar Trophy this season so far, whereas Sameer Rizvi made a hundred and four fifties to score 527 runs.

Both Kartik Tyagi and Shivam Sharma have 39 wickets each in Cooch Behar Trophy, whereas Purnank Tyagi has 35 wickets, including his career best seven wickets in Vidarbha’s first innings at the ongoing final match at Nagpur.
