Lucknow Hostel off to a fine start in junior girls hockey
LUCKNOW: Favourites Lucknow Hostel routed Jhansi 6-0 to launch their campaign in the State Junior Girls Hockey Tournament, at the Padma Shri Mohd Shahid Stadium here on Sunday.
In other matches of the day, Jhansi beat Mirzapur 6-0, Bareilly beat Meerut 9-0, Azamgarh beat Gorakhpur 3-2, Meerut beat Azamgarh 7-0, Gorakhpur beat Kanpur 1-0 and Ayodhaya beat Saharanpur 4-0.
Ruchika struck in the second and 42nd minutes for Lucknow, whereas Archana Bhardwaj scored in the 12th and 17th minute. Varsha Arya and Pitambari shared two goals between them,

Ankur stroked a fine 89 as CAG defeated North Eastern railway by seven wickets in the opening league match of the All-India Target Champions Trophy being conducted by the Lakshya Sports Academy, at the St Andrews College Ground at Gorakhpur. In the second match of the day, Nagpur defeated Haryana by 76 runs.
