Love triangle led to man’s murder, quack held

-

LUCKNOW: Five days after the recovery of the body of a 24-yearold man in a Malihabad village, the police claimed to have worked out the murder and arrested a quack here on Sunday. Police said love triangle and the victim’s obsession with his former girlfriend led to the crime.

The quack revealed that his close friend, also a quack, along with his paramour had committed the crime. The arrested accused, they said, had assisted the couple in disposing of the body. The throat slit body of the victim Mohd Rubeel of Malihabad, who reportedly left his house on the morning of May 13, was found near Kakrabad village on Tuesday morning. The assailants had tied Rubeel’s limbs and killed him by slitting his throat with a sharp object. Later, the body was rolled inside a blanket and dumped at the secluded place.

SP (rural) Vikrant Vir said that the victim was in touch with his former girlfriend Soni Raidas, who is Prantiya Rakshak Dal volunteer. The victim was allegedly harassing the woman after she got together with Shyam Kumar, the quack, and started living with him. The police nabbed Shyama Kumar’s friend Vikram Singh after finding that the latter was in constant touch with him since the day victim disappeared.

Singh revealed that Shyam Kumar murdered the victim with the help of Soni Raidas after calling him to his place. Singh later helped the couple to dispose of the body, he added. The SP said Vikram Singh was sent to jail while efforts were on to arrest Shyam Kumar and Soni Raidas. Rubeel’s brother Waseem had lodged an FIR at Malihabad.HTC
