100 UP IAS officers get observers’ duty in other states

LUCKNOW: In consonance with the Election Commission’s directive, the Uttar Pradesh government has relieved 100 IAS officers to facilitate their appointmen­t as observers for the counting of votes for Lok Sabha and assembly elections as well as by-elections in other states.

All the IAS officers appointed observers in different states have been directed to compulsori­ly report to their allotted constituen­cies by May 21 forenoon. The department of appointmen­t and personnel has issued orders in this regard intimating the officers deployed for the counting duty, individual­ly. Most of the officers are of secretary and special secretary rank. The counting of votes is scheduled to be held on May 23.

Among the UP officers assigned to other states are: Anil Kumar-II, labour commission­er (West Bengal), Dimple Verma, principal secretary, youth welfare, Dimple Verma (West Bengal), Manoj Singh, principal secretary, social welfare (Goa), Zuhair Bin Saghir, special secretary, APC, Branch (Sikkim), Prakash Bindu, special secretary, finance (MP), Ashutosh Niranjan, MD, Meerut discom (MP), K Ravindra Naik, director, industry (Maharashtr­a), Sukhlal Bharti, VC, Saharanpur Developmen­t Authority (Kerala).

Among the others are: Manisha Trighatiya, secretary, basic education (Goa), Masoom Ali Sarwar, director, panchayati­raj (Gujarat) and Rupesh Kumar, special secretary, environmen­t (Bihar).
