AJAB SINGH, A RESIDENT OF KHODA, GHAZIABAD, HAD INSURED HIS EICHER CANTER TRUCK WITH HDFC ERGO GENERAL INSURANCE, EFFECTIVE FROM SEPTEMBER 30, 2011 TO SEPTEMBER 29, 2012.

When Singh received the insurance policy certificate he found that his father’s name was wrong.

According to him, he had asked the insurance company multiple times to rectify it but was allegedly told that such a minor error does not affect the claims.

On January 2, 2012 his vehicle was stolen from an area falling under the Noida Sector 58 police station.

Police had filed the final report in the court.

On November 23, 2013 at National Mega Lok Adalat, the final report was approved by the court following which Singh had submitted the insurance claim.

On December 3, 2013 the insurance company surveyor came and took all the documents and assured Singh that the claim will be approved soon.

When he did not get any reply from the insurance company, he visited the firm’s office.

He was told that the claim was under process and will be looked at soon.

On September 3, 2014 when he went to the insurance company office, he was told his file was misplaced so his claim cannot be processed.
