Economic crisis will lead to political instability: AIFB
LUCKNOW: All India Forward Bloc secretary general Debabrata Biswas on Sunday said the Union government had pushed the country into an economic crisis. “Even the solution they have begun working on are misplaced,” he added.
“Instead of looking for solutions focused on ‘demand’ side of the economy, the government is working on the ‘supply’ aspect. The solution should focus on agriculture. Investments there that would lead to increase in ‘demand’ which would automatically lead to increased ‘supply’,” said Biswas at a press conference he held at the residence of Pragatisheel Samajwadi Party-Lohia (PSP-L) chief Shivpal Yadav. Senior Samajwadi Party leader Bhagwati Singh was also present.
Biswas said the present economic crisis would lead of political crisis in the country if immediate remedial measures were not taken. He said the All India Forward Bloc was founded by Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose and solution to the country’s ills lay in amalgamation of “Subhash-vaad and Samajwaad (Subhash’s ideology with socialist ideology)”. Biswas said Netaji had said that the country’s priority should be ‘A-E-I’ in the same order, that is, putting agriculture first, education second, and industrialisation thereafter. “When the country got independence, Nehru went for mixed economy focusing on industrialisation. Nehruvian ideology has failed.” He said the BJP government was doing the same mistakes that the Congress did. “The Congress can’t do anything for the country as it is brainless and headless now”. Biswas said he was here to attend a meeting of his party which would hold four conferences on Bose’s ideology.
