UP govt will revive Kanpur’s lost glory, says Adityanath
KANPUR: Chief minister Yogi Adityanath on Monday said that his government was working towards reviving the lost glory of Kanpur.
Addressing a rally in the run up to the by poll in Kanpur’s Govind Nagar assembly segment, Adityanath said the city already had been connected by air and Ganga ghats were being beautified under the Namami Gange project.
“Soon, the people will start enjoying their travel on Kanpur Metro trains,” he said.
The rally was held at Central Park in Shastri Nagar where he inaugurated and laid foundation of projects worth Rs 500 crore.
Appealing to people to make the city plastic-free, he claimed the deprived sections of the society were getting the benefits of welfare schemes without a bias in his government.
“No riots take place in Uttar Pradesh like they used to take place under previous governments,” he said.
“While the rule of law has been established, the government has put an end to corruption,” he said while distributing certificates to the beneficiaries of various government-run welfare schemes.
Commenting on the abrogation of Article 370 of the Constitution, which gave a special status
to Jammu and Kashmir, he said Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah had weeded out terrorism with this move.
On the issue of the National Register of Citizens (NRC) in Assam, Adityanath said infiltrators were now being driven out of the country.
“In 2022, India will be free from poverty, terrorism, Naxalism, anarchy and disorder. The dream of ‘Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat’ (one India, great India) will come true,” he said.
The chief minister stressed that the ruling dispensation was making efforts to provide better health and treatment facilities to people.
“Under this endeavour, 50 crore people in the state have been benefitted through the Ayushman Bharat Yojana. Around 10 crore toilets have been given to the needy people.
Adityanath also said the successful organisation of the Kumbh at Prayagraj proved that the Ganga was pure.
