LUCKNOW : Aam Aadmi Party UP in-charge Sanjay Singh on Wednesday attacked the state government for increasing the power tariff.

“The Uttar Pradesh government has hiked the power tariff despite the fact that the electricity charges are already too high in the state,” Singh told media persons.

Citing an example of the Delhi government, where AAP is in power Singh said: “In the last five years, the Delhi government has not increased power tariff even once. As compared to other states, the AAP government is giving cheapest electricity to the people in Delhi.”

Citing the Chinmayanand case, the AAP leader also accused the state government of failing on the law and order front and not providing justice to the victim. The AAP is carrying out a membership campaign to widen its support base across the state. AAP state president Sabhajit Singh informed that youths were getting associated with the party across the state. He also informed that the party would intensify its agitation on the issue of increased power tariff.

Alleging that the ruling BJP was spreading “anarchy” in the name of NRC, AAP MP said if it was implemented in Uttar Pradesh, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath would have to go to Uttarakhand.

“The BJP is spreading anarchy in the name of NRC. It has a number of anomalies. The country cannot move forward with it,” Singh told reporters here.

“The BJP talks of the interest of Hindus, but in Assam, 18 lakh Hindus were made refugees. Most of them belonged to Uttar Pradesh and Bihar,” the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader claimed.
