Addressing the “Howdy, Modi!” community outreach event at the NRG Stadium alongside US President Donald Trump, the Prime Minister called for a “decisive battle” against terrorism and those supporting it. He called on the US to make the most of opportunit­ies offered by his government’s plans to make India a $5-trillion economy in five years.

“Be it 9/11 in America or 26/11 in Mumbai, where can the conspirato­rs be found? The time has come for a decisive battle to be fought against terrorism and those backing it.”

NEW YORK SEPTEMBER 23

The PM took part in the UN Global Climate Action Summit and urged the internatio­nal community to act immediatel­y on climate change.

“We must accept that if we have to overcome a serious challenge like climate change, then what we are doing at the moment is just not enough. The time for talking is over. The world needs to act now…”

Addressing a high-level meeting on Universal Health Coverage, the PM said his government has taken historic steps to ensure affordable health for all.

Modi told a leaders’ dialogue on responses to terror and violent extremism that terrorists shouldn’t be allowed to get funds and arms.
