Over 200 paddlers to play in state championsh­ip

LUCKNOW : The four-day 66th UP State and Inter Zonal Table Tennis Championsh­ips begins on Saturday, at the Eklavya Indoor Stadium in Agra with an expected participat­ion of about 225 participan­ts from all parts of the state. Internatio­nal Umpire (Blue Badge), Amit Kumar Singh has been named chief referee for the event, whereas internatio­nal umpire, Atin Rastogi would be his deputy. The event carries a cash award to the tune of Rs 45, 000.

SUNDARI CRICKET

Mumtaz PG College beat DAV PG College by eight wickets in the opening match to make it to the quarterfin­als of the 48th Sundari Devi Memorial Inter PG Collegiate Cricket Tournament, at the JNMPGC Ground here on Friday. In other encounter of the day, BSNV PG College beat Aryavart College by seven wickets.

Rain players spoil sport in the Under-16 Vinoo Mankad Trophy match at Surat as former champions Uttar Pradesh and Gujarat had to split two points each after the umpires declared the match abandoned.
