PRAYAGRAJ : Chief minister Yogi Adityanath on Tuesday said Prime Minister Narendra Modi has fulfilled every promise he made to the people and claimed that in next two-and-a-halfyears, 2.5 lakh youths would get jobs in Uttar Pradesh alone.

Yogi was speaking at a public rally in Pratapgarh, to garner support for BJP-Apna Dal candidate Rajkumar Pal in the by-poll fray for the Pratapgarh Sadar seat, where three-time Congress MP from Pratapgarh Ratna Singh joined the BJP with her son and supporters.

On Tuesday, Yogi was on whirlwind bypoll campaign, covering as many as four constituencies. He addressed a public meeting in Pratapgarh for Apna Dal’s candidate, in Chitrakoot for BJP’s Manikpur Assembly seat candidate and Kanpur for Govindnagar candidate. He ended day’s campaigning addressing a rally in Alambagh for Lucknow Cantt candidate of the party.

Ratna Singh, in her brief address, said Modi and Yogi were serving the people with honesty and dedication and it was her desire to work for the common man that had prompted her to join the BJP.

Yogi said Modi, after making the world take note of India in his first tenure, within 100 days of his second stint ‘wiped out’ triple talaq from the country and section 370 from Jammu and Kashmir.

Yogi said development was the sole agenda of BJP and both, the state and the central governments, were committed to not let the wheels of development slow down.

He said that no one wanted to

remain with the Congress that has opposed abrogation of section 370 from J&K and no wonder the party was witnessing exodus of its leaders.

“Everyone who is a nationalist and loves development is joining the BJP, which has helped welcome a new era of progress and development in the country since coming to power in 2014,” he said.

Former union minister and Apna Dal (S) president Anupriya Patel said BJP and her party were the voice of the common people. She said that every effort would be made to help the needy progress and prosper.

Cabinet Minister Swami Prasad Maurya said that Modi was helping both the country and the state progress, rising above castes politics that is being practiced by opposition parties.

Later talking to select media persons, Ratna Singh said her decision to leave Congress stemmed from the fact that the party had lost touch with the people and their wishes.
