LUCKNOW: The Congress proposes to hold a three-day training camp at Rae Bareli from October 22 for the Uttar Pradesh Congress Committee’s (UPCC) new team tasked to accomplish Mission UP 2022.

Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra will attend the programme for the state’s 45-member new team that will have sessions of experts on the party’s history, prevailing political situation, economic scenario and emotive issues, said Congress spokesperson Rajiv Tyagi.

The Congress had on October 7 announced the new team for state to be led by Uttar Pradesh Congress Committee (UPCC) president Ajay Kumar Lallu. “All the team members have been asked to camp at Rae Bareli for the session though the list of experts is yet to be communicated to the members,” said a senior leader.

Much significance is being attached to the session before Priyanka Gandhi Vadra begins her statewide tours to connect with the people. “Team Priyanka will be on roads taking up issues of the common man. Priyanka Gandhi Vadra understands the issues very well. She is a good leader and is genuinely concerned about the plight of unemployed youth and farmers. She wants to make Uttar Pradesh Uttam Pradesh by making the state an industrial, agriculture and technology hub,” said Tyagi.

Another leader said the average age of the new team was about 40 years and the party obviously wanted that the members were well aware of the policies and party’s stand on emotive issues. “The training would ensure that the team members put their point effectively and speak on party’s stand on various controversial and emotive issues without raising any controversy,” said the leader.
