LUCKNOW : Under fire over the killing of Hindu outfit leader Kamlesh Tiwari, chief minister Yogi Adityanath and UP BJP chief Swatantra Dev Singh spoke identically that nefarious designs of those attempting to spread panic would be crushed with an iron hand.

Adityanath said he would be meeting Tiwari’s kin at his Kalidas Marg residence on Sunday at 11am.

“I am ready to meet anyone. I will meet them,” Adityanath said on being told that Tiwari’s family had demanded an audience with him. He made the statement in Maharashtra where he had gone to campaign for the assembly polls.

The UP police have decided to grant Tiwari’s family security and firearm and Adityanath is expected to also announce government job for Tiwari’s son and monetary compensation to the kin of the deceased. Kamlesh Tiwari was brutally murdered at his Lucknow residence on Friday by assailants who were clad in saffron clothes to avoid suspicion. Adityanath hinted that the assailants had fixed up an appointment with Tiwari before coming.

“They (assailants) had tea and refreshment (at Tiwari’s place) after Tiwari asked his security personnel to allow them in,” Adityanath said while adding that police had quickly made significant breakthroughs in the case.

“Three suspects have been detained in Gujarat and two in Lucknow. Few others are being interrogated. Raids are being carried out to round up more suspects. Clear orders have been given to take effective steps in the case,” he said adding he was reviewing the investigation in the sensational murder case.

The CM said he was informed by the police officers that Tiwari’s private assistant and his son had been sent out on some errand around the time when the assailants carried out the brutal killing.
