P’GARH SADAR: POLLING AT 368 BOOTHS
PRAYAGRAJ: The stage is set for polling to Pratapgarh’s Sadar assembly by-poll. It is one of the 11 assembly constituencies where voting will take place on Monday. Pratapgarh District magistrate/district election officer Markandey Shahi said polling would be held at 368 booths in 212 centres. Of them, 37 booths marked as sensitive would have facility of web casting. All the booths in the constituency will also have GPS facility so as to enable voters reach their allotted polling booth by locating its actual place through mobile phones. Continuous video recording of the proceedings would also be done at sensitive booths. As per Shahi, 11 candidates, including one independent, are in the fray. Singh of the Communist Party of India, Praveen Kumar of the Nationalist Congress Party, Brijesh Verma Patel of the Samajwadi Party, Ranjeet of the Bahujan Samaj Party, Abdul Mateen of the Peace Party, Israr Ahmed of the AIMIM, Mohammed Irshad of the Sarvoday Bharat Party, Rajkumar Pal of the Apna Dal (having support of the BJP), Harikesh Kumar of the Bahujan Mukti Party besides independent candidate Bajrangilal Verma. A total of 3, 36, 987 voters, including 1, 81, 407 men and 1, 55, 579 women, are to exercise their franchise. The district administration has made parking arrangements for vehicles selected for polling duty on Mahuli Mandi premises. Some four wheelers would also be parked on the Police Lines premises.
