DMs, SPs asked to maintain strict vigil in festive season
LUCKNOW: : Chief minister Yogi Adityanath has directed district magistrates and superintendents of police to review the security of prominent people in respective districts. He also told the officers to maintain regular communication with religious heads and take measures to check efforts of anti-social elements to incite people.
In a video conferencing with the administration and police officers late on Saturday evening, the chief minister said that the coming two months are sensitive in view of the festivals. The vigil on the India- Nepal border should be increased and officials should monitor the social media regularly and take strict action against the anti-social elements who try to disturb communal harmony, he said.
Yogi directed the officers to check gambling and sale of illicit liquor during the festival. The sale of the fire crackers should be regulated and the order of the apex court should be implemented strictly. The security and patrolling should be increased in the sensitive areas. Adequate security should be provided to women moving in public places during festival. The local intelligence units should be activated, he said.
The CM ordered for the release of salary of state government employees before Diwali. He said the state government will launch Kanya Sumangala Yojana on October 25. The fund will be deposited in the account of the beneficiaries immediately, he said.
He directed the officers to launch a drive against stray cattle and shift the cattle to cowsheds in their respective districts. The state government has released funds for the maintenance of cowsheds and supply of fodder, he said.
