LUCKNOW:Law and justice minister (UP) Brajesh Pathak on Monday assured all kinds of assistance to Kamlesh Tiwari’s family. The minister met the family in Sitapur and assured death penalty for culprits.

While talking to Tiwari’s mother, he said, “Police are tirelessly working to nab the culprits. The matter will be taken to the fast track court.” later he told reporters, “We will urge the court to award them death penalty within six months.” “The government is with the family in this moment of grief. We will ensure that his (Tiwari’s) family does not face any difficulty,” he added.

He also advised political parties to not give this incident a political colour. “I have a family relation with Tiwari’s family. On the day of the incident, I was in Delhi. That is why I have come to meet them today,” he added. The minister also claimed that the family was satisfied with the security provided to them by the state government.

This meeting has come a day after the family met Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath in Lucknow. However, the family expressed unhappiness after meeting the chief minister.

Tiwari’s mother Kusum Tiwari had said on Sunday, “I went there to ask him (CM) why was my son murdered? Why was his security reduced? He replied that he was not here when the incident took place.

” The mother had said, “Hamari ichha ke mutabik na unka haav rahe na bhav rahe (The chief minister’s demeanour and talks were not as per our wish). We are not satisfied with the assurances given by the chief minister and we will pick up arms if justice is not done.

”Tiwari was murdered by two assailants, who, according to police, were radicalised after his vitriolic comments on their faith, at his residence-cum-office in Khurshed Bagh here on October 18. Police have arrested three masterminds of the case and are on lookout for the two assailants.
