First national RERA conclave in Lucknow on November 4

LUCKNOW:The first national RERA conclave will be held in the state capital on November 4 in which real estate regulatory authority chiefs from all across the country will participat­e along with prominent developers.

In the day-long conclave, five sessions will be held covering various aspects of the real estate sector.

Among the five sessions, one will be related with consumers (homebuyers) ‘RERA Implementa­tion –Consumer Perspectiv­e’ in which wide ranging issues related with homebuyers will be discussed.

The efficacy of Real Estate Regulatory Authority (RERA) in meeting demands and challenges of the sector, RERA as a vehicle of consumer protection, amicable settlement of consumer disputes through conciliati­on mechanism and strengthen­ing the follow-up mechanism, including execution of orders, will be major topics related with homebuyers.

Pradesh tops the chart when it comes to complaints against developers. The state has registered 45% of total complaints lodged against developers with the Real Estate Regulatory Authority (RERA) across the country. However, the UPRERA also has the distinctio­n of addressing maximum complaints as compared to other parts of the country.

“Till August 30, as many as 17,077 complaints were lodged with the UPRERA. Out of this, it has disposed of 10505 complaints,” said Rajive Kumar, UPRERA chief. “In the state, maximum 10,254 complaints against developers were lodged in Gautam Buddha Nagar followed by 3447 in Lucknow and 2184 in Ghaziabad,” Kumar added.

The UP RERA has also identified 20 such developers against whom 5967 complaints have been lodged by homebuyers.

The UPRERA is also planning single window clearance system for the real estate sector.
