LUCKNOW:A boundary on the last ball and that too with a reverse sweep by former India Under-19 World Cupper Zeeshan Ansari helped local outfits Sound Images Club (SIC) score a thrilling three-wicket win against KG Colts (KGC), Delhi to make it to the semi-finals of the 1st All India Sports Galaxy Trophy here on Monday.

While chasing 209 in 40 overs, SIC needed four runs on the last ball with three wickets in hand, and Zeeshan struck a fine boundary with a reverse sweep off leftarm orthodox spinner Asif Mansoori to fashion team’s last-ball win, at the Jaipuria School

Ground.

A 75-run sixth wicket stand between Mritunjay Yadav (54, 61b, 5x4, 1x6) and Siddrath Das (47, 59b, 6x4) had already done the repairing work after the side being reduced to 127/5 in 25.3 overs. Nilendra P Singh (31, 38b, 2x4) and Saurabh Dubey (22, 31b, 2x4) were the other main run getters. Asif and Harshit Sethi shared four wickets between them.

Earlier after being sent to bat first, Delhi’s top order clicked in the right manner. Openers Parth Jain (43, 86b, x34) and Raja Khan (35, 41b, 4x4, 1x6) stitched together 58 runs for the first wicket, before Jain adding another valuable 61-run for the second wicket with Nazim Siddiqui

(37, 29b, x34, 1x6).

But once left-arm spinner Mitrakant Yadav and Zeeshan Ansari were introduced, things began changing dramatically with wickets started falling on regular intervals before the side being restricted to 208/9 in 40 overs. Yadav finished with 3/24, where Ansari had 2/49.
