MAN ENDS LIFE AFTER KILLING WIFE, TWO KIDS
LUCKNOW : A 32-year-old man committed suicide after killing his wife and two children in Kalyanpur locality under Gudamba police station limits here. The deceased’s body was found hanging from the ceiling of his rented room on Saturday, police officials said. Lucknow commissioner of police (CP) Sujeet Pandey said the man was identified as Pintu Gupta, who originally hailed from Varanasi’s Bhelupur area. Pandey said the initial findings suggested that Gupta first smothered his wife to death after some confrontation.
LUCKNOW: A 32-year-old man committed suicide after killing his wife and two children in Kalyanpur locality under Gudamba police station limits here. The deceased’s body was found hanging from the ceiling of his rented room on Saturday, police officials said.
Lucknow commissioner of police (CP) Sujeet Pandey said the man was identified as Pintu Gupta, who originally hailed from Varanasi’s Bhelupur area. “He had been staying in the rented accommodation along with his wife Aarti, 30, and two children—daughter Neha, 8, and son Naitik, 5, — since 2017. Gupta had purchased two e-rickshaws on loan and earn livelihood by operating. His wife too worked as cook in a house to help him in earning money,” Pandey said.
Pandey said the initial findings suggested that Gupta first smothered his wife to death after
some confrontation.
“The man hanged himself after smothering his two children while they were sleeping. The bodies of the woman and two children were found lying on the bed with quilt put over it while the man’s body was found hanging from the room ceiling,”the CP said.
He added Pintu removed the
ceiling fan and then hanged himself from the ceiling hook by covering his face with black cloth.
Sharing further details, assistant CP of Ghazipur police circle, Deepak Kumar Singh said the forensic experts scanned the site, but they did not found any suicide note or anything else that could hint about the actual reason behind the man’s grave step.
