23 MoUs, massive job creation expected: CM
LUCKNOW: Chief minister Yogi Adityanath said 23 memorandums of understanding (MoUs) involving an investment of about₹ 50,000 crore and creation of 3 lakh jobs were expected at the DefExpo 2020 that Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated here on Wednesday.
Speaking at the inaugural session of the mega event, Yogi said with better connections and better law and order situation, Uttar Pradesh had emerged as a better destination for investors. He listed the work being done by his government for development of infrastructure and said the Poorvanchal Expressway was likely to be opened for people by the end of 2020.
He said the state government had also begun working on construction of a new expressway (Ganga Expressway) to connect Prayagraj in east UP with Meerut in west UP.
Yogi said the state government was also developing 11 new airports and work on a new international airport at Jewar (Gautam Buddha Nagar) would also begin soon.
He said the DefExpo 2020 in Lucknow was a major opportunity for the state government.
He also referred to the measures the state government had taken to attract investment through the UP Investors’ Summit and in the defence corridor after Modi’s announcement to set up two new corridors.
