HAL signs MoU with Israel’s Elbit Systems
LUCKNOW: A memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed between HAL and Elbit Systems ISTAR Division, Israel, for assessment of feasibility of jointly developing a Vertical Take-off and Landing (VTOL) Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) (Rotary UAV of 2000 kilo class) for maritime and land based military operations, an official release said.
This will cater to the domestic as well as the global requirements and promote mutually beneficial cooperation between HAL and Elbit in terms of technology, manufacturing, marketing and maintenance of the UAV globally.
Director (engineering and R&D), HAL, Arup Chatterjee and VP (business development and Marketing, Elbit Systems) Roy Zentner signed the MoU in the presence of HAL chairman and managing director R Madhavan and senior officials of HAL and Elbit Systems.
A press release said the proposed VTOL UAVs have tremendous potential of carrying out maritime military missions with higher efficiency compared to a manned helicopter.
Besides, HAL, Israel Aerospace Industries Limited (IAI) and Dynamatic Technologies Limited (DTL) signed an MoU for marketing, manufacturing and selling of IAI’s UAVs to Indian potential customers, such as Indian defence forces, paramilitary forces and Central Armed Police Forces at DefExpo 2020 on Wednesday.
The MoU was signed between Sanjiv Shukla, ED (Corporate Planning), HAL, Eli Alfassi, executive vice president, marketing, for IAI and Arvind Mishra, executive director and Global COO Hydraulics and Homeland Security for DTL, in the presence of R Madhavan, CMD(HAL), senior executives of HAL, IAI and DTL.
Meanwhile, HAL and New Space Research & Technologies Pvt. Ltd. signed a non disclosure agreement (NDA) to explore cooperation for joint development and manufacturing of various products and systems at DefExpo 2020, here on Wednesday.
