LBA general secy arrested, three attackers identified
LUCKNOW: Lucknow Bar Association’s (LBA) general secretary Jitu Yadav was arrested on Friday night, in connection with the low intensity bomb attack on another office-bearer of the Bar inside the district court here on Thursday, said cops.
Police also identified three attackers, but did not disclose details of them. As per the police probe and the FIR, there were more than 8-10 persons, who attacked and hurled crude bombs at the victim inside the Lucknow court campus.
Meanwhile, the police tightened security on the court complex. Joint commissioner of police (law and order), Naveen Arora said, “Efforts are on to strengthen the security system in all courts. Meetings will be held with all stakeholders.”
On the complaint of the victim Sanjeev Lodhi, Jitu Yadav, Annu Yadav, Sudhir Yadav, Ajaj, Azam, Dilip Singh and Ajay Yadav were booked for attempt to murder and other charges.
UPBA SETS UP PANEL
PRAYAGRAJ: Taking a serious note of the violent clash between two office-bearers of district court of Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh Bar Council (UPBA), the apex body of the lawyers of the state, has set up a nine member committee to probe the incident and submit its report by March 1, 2020, so that appropriate disciplinary action may be initiated against those lawyers, who are involved in the incident. The chairman of bar council, Hari Shankar Singh said that appropriate action would be taken after the report of the committee.
